Edvine Larssen (b. 1977) Edvine Larssens practice is solidly site bound, valuing time as well as space as active components. Her architectonic and/or performative installations are acting on both material and conceptual means. Larssen defines her works as Passage Works – works in a constant state of becoming, where movement and sensory experience often plays a part.
From October 2020 Larssen has a position as Professor in contemporary arts at the Art Academy in Tromsø UiT. She holds a PhD equivalent from the Norwegian Artistic Research Programme via the Art Academy NTNU. She is also educated at Kingston University in London and CCA Kitakyushu in Japan. Larssen has previously made site bound works for RAKE in collaboration with Magasinet (Dagbladet), Nordenfjeldske kunstindustrimuseum, Trondheim international festival for performative arts, Tromsø kunstforening, SALT and LevArt, to mention some. She also works with various publications and text.
